Brightline – Boca Raton

Aventura Boca Raton Station

In December 2022, Brightline Florida opened a new infill station called Boca Raton Station in Downtown Boca Raton. At that station, Brightline can transport passengers to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Aventura. Boca Raton Station (101 NW 4th St,
Boca Raton, FL 33432
) is located between north of Fort Lauderdale and south of West Palm Beach. Around Boca Raton Station is Downtown Boca Raton. A mile away from the station is Boca Raton Beach. Brightline offers shuttle bus/car around the five miles radius. For more information about using a Brightline Shuttle or receiving an Uber ride voucher (within five miles radius), please read more about Brightline+ Service.

Station Layout

At the entrance of the station, there is a small kiosk to purchase tickets, fare gate and a brief security entrance. After passing through security, you’ll be lead to the waiting lounge and a mini-store (to purchase snacks or merchandise). If you have purchased a Premium Class tickets, there is a Premium Lounge area. In the Premium Lounge, snacks and drinks are compliment.

A Brightline passengers with vehicle can station their vehicle at a parking garage at a reasonable rate. If purchase a parking pass online (along with the Brightline train fare ticket), the parking cost $7 per day (flat rate). However, if you don’t pay in advance (online), then the rate is $15 per day. For more information about rates and rules, please visit Brightline’s Parking page.

Traveling

There is only one sided train platform in Boca Raton Station. The station manager will make an announcement if there is a northbound or southbound train arriving. If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask the station manager or Brightline staff, there are friendly and helpful.

Boca Raton Station only had one side boarding platform.

Northbound Trains

Northbound trains will travel to West Palm Beach and Orlando. In Orlando Station, the northbound train will terminate at Orlando International Airport (MCO). This station will open to the public after September 1, 2023.

Southbound Trains

Southbound trains will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Aventura, and Miami.

Fares

I recommend purchasing the train ticket online. Brightline’s App and train station ticket kiosk has a bad computer glitch that will cause the purchasing experience inconvenience and frustrating. Purchasing the ticket online is easy and less frustrating. In addition, if purchasing the ticket at the train station (or the train station kiosk), most of the tickets will sell Premium Class only (which is pricier). If you want to save money and avoid the hassle, purchase the tickets online. Tickets will be delivered to your email (or you can print out a copy).

Point of Interests around Boca Raton Station

Boca Raton Beach

A mile away from the station is Boca Raton Beach. Brightline offers several ways to travel to/from the beach and are partnered with vendors that provides shuttle service. For more information about Brightline’s shuttle service, visit their official webpage for more details.

Opinion

This is a great infill station that Brighline Florida has built. My reasons of going to Boca Raton is me relaxing at South Beach Park, Boca Raton. Miami’s South Beach is too loud and crowded (and it is not the only beach in Miami). Boca Raton beaches is nice, relaxing, quiet, and less crowded. The only drawback is that the beach is a mile away from the station. However, Brightline offers shuttle services (may not be free service) around the station.

The only issue I have with Brightline is that the price has become pretty steep recently. It is becoming expensive to travel and driving seems to be a cheaper alternative. However, driving on Interstate Highway (IH) 95 can be a nightmare sometimes. Other train alternative between Miami/Fort Lauderdale/West Palm Beach and Boca Raton is boarding the Tri Rail Commuter Train. Although, I’m not sure what the future of Brightline and Tri Rail will occur in 2026. Tri Rail needs more funding and Brightline is on a debt/bond crisis (that explains the price increase) that could cause rail interruptions (or indefinite shutdown).

The train ride experience can be enjoyable sometimes, but sometimes, passengers heading to Orlando can be loud sometimes. For example, there was a family with three children, and they have their phones/tablets at loud speakers. Additionally, their parents were being loud too. I wish the rail conductor will enforce to keep their volume low or Brightline to create a Quiet Car.
